1. What is one-bedroom apartment? What is efficiency apartment?

One-bedroom apartment has one bedroom, one living room, one kitchen, and a bathroom. While efficiency apartment only has one living room, one kitchen, and a bathroom.

2. Which one is better, Cooperstown, Showneentown, or Commonwealth village?

Most Chinese students live in Cooperstown and Showneentown, few live in Commonwealth. Also, most of us are sharing an apartment with another person. Cooperstown is near the Young Library, which is the largest library of UK and thus very convenient. Showneentown and Commonwealth are a little bit far from campus.

3. How to apply for an apartment?

Just fill the application form from the Housing Office and send it back with application fee.

4. How to look for a roommate before I come to UK?

Just put your advertisement on the bulletin of our web page.

5. What should I do if I don't want to move in the apartment I have applied?

You can go to the Housing Office and return the apartment. Your application fee will be refunded in that case. However, you can do that only before you move in the apartment.

6. Other suggestions.

(1) Once you begin to share an apartment with other person, you need to sign the sublease so that your name will be shown inside the mailbox. If not, some important letters, including Social Security Number, may not reach you.

(2) We strongly recommend you to come for the orientation week. Important procedures will be processed in that week.
